Things are going really badly for Hanna Öberg at the Biathlon World Championships.
The Swede is frustrated by the poor results.
Nove Mesto – The Biathlon World Championships in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic are in full swing and numerous medals have already been awarded.
In the women's singles, the German team could finally celebrate, as Janina Hettich-Walz secured silver.
Things aren't going well for the Swedish team, however.
Hanna Öberg in particular was deeply saddened by her results so far.
Öberg disappoints at the Biathlon World Cup
The ambitions in the individual were great, but once again the race was a disappointment.
In the end there was a 16th place, which is not Öberg's claim.
With poor performance on the shooting range, she left the fight for precious metal early.
“It was especially the second series that was just too bad.
Afterwards I was a bit pissed off.
It annoys me that I don’t show a better performance,” said Öberg angrily in an interview with
SVT
.
What is particularly bitter for the Swedes is the fact that she started the race as one of the big favorites, because the individual is her flagship discipline.
She won individual gold at the 2018 Olympics and was also at the top of the podium at the 2019 and 2023 World Championships.

The 28-year-old doesn't stand a chance on the track and can keep up with the top athletes, but her nerves at the shooting range are currently getting in the way.
She missed the target three times in the individual competition.
"That is too bad.
“You can’t afford something like that,” Jean-Marc Chabloz, the Swedish team’s shooting coach, also criticized her.
Öberg sister without a chance at the Biathlon World Cup
Things went just as badly for her sister Elvira as for Hanna Öberg.
The 24-year-old not only showed weaknesses at the shooting range, but was also far away from the best runners on the course.
In the end she finished 30th.
