In reaction to comments made by the French journalist in “L’After foot” (RMC), Olympique de Marseille announced Thursday February 15


On February 12, Stéphane Guy did not spare Pablo Longoria in “L'After foot”, the RMC show.

The Spaniard, president of Olympique de Marseille since 2021, has decided to file a defamation complaint against the French journalist, Marseille informed this Thursday.

In a press release, the Marseille team described the accusations made by Stéphane Guy against Pablo Longoria as “slanderous and defamatory”.

After reading “with amazement” the comments made by the journalist, the Spaniard “immediately contacted his counsel to file a defamation complaint”.

Stéphane Guy had implied that Pablo Longoria had taken advantage of his position at OM to enrich himself personally, to the detriment of the club.

“He no longer gets through the criticism, I believe that now he is one of the designated targets.

The deception eventually came to light.

“Irresponsible and unfounded remarks”

The owner of Olympique de Marseille, Franck McCourt, supported Pablo Longoria, in a press release sent to La Provence.

“I provide, alongside the OM Supervisory Board, my full support to Pablo Longoria in the face of irresponsible and unfounded comments.

The leadership, commitment and sincerity of the president of Olympique de Marseille have been demonstrated time and time again since he took office in February 2021."

Marseille returns to the field this Thursday, as the French club faces Shakhtior Donetsk in the round of 16 first leg of the Europa League, at 6:45 p.m.
