Anyone who thought that the mudslinging at TSV 1860 would end with Sitzberger's resignation was mistaken.

The board of directors fires back sharply.

Munich - Next round in the unprecedented mangling process at Grünwalder Straße 114. Two days after Hans Sitzberger's resignation, the board of directors of TSV 1860 Munich responded to the former vice-president's allegations and rejected the allegations.

“He will always have a place with the Lions.”

Board of Directors of TSV 1860 via Hans Sitzberger.

The statement published on the eV website actually starts out quite conciliatory.

The Board of Directors points out that Sitzberger's resignation means that an extraordinary general meeting has become "no longer relevant".

“We would like to thank Hans Sitzberger for his voluntary work in the association, whose value for the board of directors was never in doubt.

He will always have a place with the Lions,” the authors claim.

But then the board of directors explicitly addresses two allegations made by the former deputy head in its statement: “Among other things, Hans Sitzberger's explanations of his alleged voting behavior at the shareholders' meeting are not compatible with the notary's minutes of the meeting.

This is published in the commercial register.

According to the notarial minutes, Hans Sitzberger demonstrably voted differently at the meeting than he claimed to the board of directors and now also to the public.”

Board of Directors wants to give an account at the general meeting “upon request”.

Serious allegations against the 71-year-old.

But the members of the board of directors follow up and refer to the emails allegedly leaked by Sitzberger.

“At another point in his statement, Hans Sitzberger states that an unauthorized email address from his company was used in correspondence with him.

He did not use them himself and explicitly did not want them to be used.

“The board of directors, however, has emails in which Hans Sitzberger wrote to association committees in writing about confidential matters via this exact account throughout the relevant period,” the statement says.

“This is what happened in an email from September 20, 2023 at 10:14 p.m.

His private signature is also in the footer of the email - not that of his company.

This email address was demonstrably actively used by Hans Sitzberger both in correspondence with the Presidium and with the Board of Directors.”

The board of directors speaks of Sitzberger's "exemplary misrepresentations" and writes that dealing with the matter "by means of mutual public statements is neither possible nor beneficial to the welfare of the association."

At the general meeting in the summer, the committee wants to give a detailed account of its decision to withdraw its trust from Sitzberger “upon request”.

To be continued - definitely!
