What's next for Thomas Tuchel in Munich?

According to Sky, there was a real crash in the FC Bayern dressing room after the defeat in Rome.

Munich - Can this still be kitted?

In mid-February 2024, FC Bayern is slipping deeper and deeper into the crisis.

Right in the middle: coach Thomas Tuchel.

On Thursday evening (February 15th), Sky reported on an allegedly violent statement that Tuchel is said to have made to his players.

Accordingly, after Munich's surprising and disappointing 0-1 (0-0) defeat at Lazio Rome, there was a real crash in the dressing room at the Stadio Olimpico.

As Sky presenter Riccardo Basile explained, Tuchel is said to have told the German record champions' team:

“You're not as good as I thought.

Then I just have to adapt to your level.”

The journalist refers to an unnamed source from the FCB player circle.

If the sentence is correct in this form, it would be the next level of escalation between the 50-year-old coach and his stars.

Thomas Tuchel: Will FC Bayern stick with their coach?

Even before the unexpected defeat in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16,

Bild

had reported on alleged differences between Tuchel and the leading players Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Matthijs de Ligt.

The Bavarian Swabian went into the dressing room immediately after the end of the game and did not go to his players or the fans who had traveled with him.

But that's not all: Even before the winning goal by ex-BVB striker Ciro Immobile (69th minute/foul penalty), Bayern coach Tuchel sat on the substitutes' bench, looking downright stunned, with his hands clasped over his face, which was seen by various photographers as well as the cameras Streaming service DAZN documented.

On the same broadcaster, Tuchel came to a bitter conclusion on the same evening, while the club actually has very high expectations in the premier class.

We're having a hard time.

So far we have delivered results.

Now we're having a hard time creating scoring chances and converting them.

“We won't blame each other now,” he said and said soberly: “We're having a hard time.

So far we have delivered results.

Now we're having a hard time creating scoring chances and converting them." As of February 15, Tuchel had lost ten of 43 competitive games with Bayern.

In the DFB Cup this season he failed disastrously in the second round against third division team 1. FC Saarbrücken (1:2), after the Munich team under him had already clearly lost the national Supercup against RB Leipzig (0:3) in August.

In the Bundesliga, the gap to leaders Bayer Leverkusen before matchday 22 was five points.

Thomas Tuchel: Herbert Hainer strengthens FC Bayern coach

Before this season, FCB had only invested a rumored fee of 100 million euros in the transfer of top English goalscorer Harry Kane.

“Thomas Tuchel and his coaching team work meticulously and with commitment.

And the team has already shown what they can do this season.

Of course, we are lacking results at the moment,” Bayern President Herbert Hainer explained on Thursday after the

media group returned and supported his coach: “We now need an initial spark to get the much-quoted buck on the pitch to knock over.

We are all working on this together and I am convinced that we can do it.”
