“France hosted the IHF Men’s World Championship in 1970, in 2001 and in 2017,” said the presidents of the two federations in a joint press release.
Germany, on several occasions too, notably in 2007 then in 2019 with Denmark, for record attendances and high-level matches in sold-out arenas.
Very recently, the men's EHF EURO 2024, which took place in Germany, exceeded the million spectator mark in theaters – and France became, for the fourth time, European handball champion!
Both on a sporting and organizational level, we have proven that we are capable of offering remarkable and professional infrastructures, while creating a unique atmosphere thanks to the many enthusiastic handball fans!

The World Cups at home are a good memory for the Blues.
In 2001 and 2017, the French team won the title, beating Sweden the first time then Norway the second.
Germany also won the gold medal during its last World Championship on home soil, in 2007. The Germans will already host the 2027 edition.
