Defensive talent Leandro Morgalla is being thwarted after his move from TSV 1860 Munich to Salzburg.
It is unclear how long the 19-year-old will be out.
Munich – Leandro Morgalla has contracted myocarditis and will be out indefinitely.
His club Red Bull Salzburg announced this on Thursday.
The talented defender's illness was caused by a viral infection at the beginning of February.
It is the second piece of bad news for the former lion since he moved from the Isar to the Salzach.
The DFB U21 international was slowed down by a torn ligament shortly after his move and is now condemned to watch again.
After his ankle injury had healed, the 19-year-old fought his way back into the first team squad with the series champions from Austria through appearances in the farm team FC Liefering and a half in the 2nd round of the ÖFB Cup against Austria Salzburg.
A few months after his move, Leandro Morgalla celebrated his Champions League debut for RB
At the end of November, just a few months after moving from TSV 1860 to the city of Mozart, Morgalla made his debut in the away game against Real Sociedad San Sebastian in the Champions League and was able to show his skills for 45 minutes.
Since then, the Hesse native has not played for the Brauseklub.
Despite his departure, he recently made positive headlines in Munich.
Largely thanks to him and the talents Marius Wöhrl and Niklas Lang, the cash register rang at Grünwalder Straße 114.
The Lions received a record sum of 648,000 euros from the DFB youth funding pot.
With 31 of 38 possible appearances in the 3rd division, Morgalla made a significant contribution to the windfall for his cash-strapped former club.
