Antoine Dupont will make his debut with the French rugby sevens team. Present at Insep for almost two weeks with his teammates to prepare for the next tournaments and the Paris Olympic Games, the scrum half was selected by Jérôme Daret, the coach of the Blues, for the American tour.
The Stade Toulouse player will therefore participate in his first two tournaments, in Vancouver (February 23 to 25) and Los Angeles (March 1 to 3).
14 players will be part of the France team for this tour.
Paulin Riva will be captain, while Stade Français player Andy Timo is also on the list.
On the X account (formerly Twitter) of the French Olympic team, Antoine Dupont spoke about this new adventure with the French 7s team and the final objective: the Olympic Games.
“The Olympics represent, quite simply, the Holy Grail of sport,” he declared.
We all have legendary memories of the Games that we saw on TV and to be able to claim a medal is already grandiose.

The French XV star also spoke about the transition from rugby union to rugby sevens. “There are still quite a few changes,” he admitted.
Obviously, it remains the same sport but the playing principles are different, as are the physical and athletic profiles.
