Since this competition period, Julia and Maximilian Rath have been competing for the same club.
In Munich they each had a remarkable performance over 3000 meters.
Munich
- Up to now they have played for different clubs, now the siblings Julia and Maximilian Rath wear the same jersey color.
The Penzberg young athletes are now competing for LG Stadtwerke Munich.
They now competed together at the Bavarian indoor championships in the state capital – and won medals.
Overall, LG Stadtwerke shone as the most successful club with 31 titles and an additional 30 podium places.
Julia Rath back on the track after injury
Sometimes it was an illness, sometimes an injury -
Julia Rath
(19) has often had to take forced breaks in her career.
Most recently, the woman from Penzberg suffered from problems in her left knee.
Training was only possible to a limited extent; Rath didn't even think about setting a personal best in the 3,000 meters.
However, the goal was the title in the women's class - and she won it with a time of 10:11.91 minutes.
Silver went to Marisa Geisberger (10:45.14), who also competes for LG Stadtwerke Munich.

Rath tackled the race courageously, took the lead and separated himself from the rest of the field.
The first 1000 meters were completed in 3:20.96 minutes.
U20 athlete Jule Lindner (LG Bamberg) was the only one able to keep up and catch up.
The two runners covered the second kilometer together, and at the beginning of the third kilometer Jule Lindner increased the pace and distanced herself from Rath meter by meter.
The Penzberg native stayed at her pace due to her current training condition.
Lindner crossed the finish line after 10:02.02 minutes and won the U20 championship title.
Maximilian Rath improves his own Bavarian record
Around 100 meters from the finish it was already clear that Maximilian Rath would win gold in the 3000 meters, but the Penzberger still fought for every tenth of a second right up to the line.
Because there was something else beyond a medal: the Bavarian indoor record for the M15, which the youngster
had recently improved to 8:59.00 minutes
.
So Rath continued to give his all and was rewarded with a personal best time: this time the clock stopped for him at 8:54.67 minutes.
BLV scene expert Claus Habermann was particularly impressed by Rath's performance.
To classify the Penzberger's performance, he referred to the other winning times: Rath was faster than the winner in the U18 class, club colleague Levin Saveur (8:56.42), than the U20 winner, Luis Pfister (TSV Ottobeuren / 9:01.00), and even as the winner of the men's class, Florian Macher (TSG 08 Roth/8:55.82).
Pfister and Macher took part in the second 3000 meter race.
In the first run, the athletes from M15 to U18 took to the track together.

In order to enable personal bests, coach Michael Wilms, whose group also includes
Maximilian Rath
, hired the U18 800-meter champion as a pacesetter.
Moritz Gutowski, who had previously dominated the four indoor laps with a personal best time (2:00.92), set the pace for the first 1000 meters.
The five laps were completed in 3:02.05 minutes - everything went as planned.
In the next few laps, the U18 athletes Tim Alt, Paul Rammelt and Levin Saveur (all LG Stadtwerke Munich) took turns setting the pace.
The passing time after 2000 meters was 6:02.07.

As Habermann described it, a group of five became a group of three with Rath, Saveur and Rammelt.
Now the Penzberger was also at the top.
The top three ran faster and faster.
At the beginning of the final lap, Rath initiated a faster pace.
Only Saveur was able to follow, but only briefly.
Rath's victory was already certain well before the finish.
The lead over the runner-up in the M15 class was a whopping 54 seconds.
Habermann describes the fact that Rath, with his current indoor top times in the 1500 meters (4:08.00) and 3000 meters (8:54.67), has clearly undercut the qualification standard for the German U20 indoor championships, as “very remarkable”. .
The catch: Due to his age (14), the Penzberger is not allowed to take part in the title fights - simply because he is too young.
