But not “bad news”? Hope for a lightning comeback for the Bayern star

Highlights: Alphonso Davies started running training again for the first time since his injury. The left-back missed both the important Bundesliga game against Leverkusen and the first leg of the Champions League against Lazio. Davies could play again in the home game against Leipzig if the healing process continues to go well. The potentially decisive away game for coach Thomas Tuchel at VfL Bochum (February 18) will probably come too early for the Bayern star. But he could return sooner than expected.

Uncomfortable times are ahead at FC Bayern Munich after their second defeat in a row.

But for one star, improvement now seems to be in sight.

Munich – It was the moment of shock for FC Bayern in the victorious home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach: Shortly before the end of the game, Alphonso Davies slipped over the goal line before turning to the side and hitting the ground with his fist.

The Canadian immediately held his left knee and signaled that he couldn't go any further.

The left-back then missed both the important Bundesliga game against Leverkusen and the first leg of the round of 16 in the Champions League against Lazio.

Both games were lost, and without the Canadian, the Munich team appeared vulnerable on defense.

But now there seems to be hope in sight.

On Thursday morning, Davies started running training again for the first time since his injury.

Together with Bouna Sarr and fitness trainer Simon Martinello, the full-back did a few laps around the club premises on Säbener Straße.

After his injury at the beginning of February, this is the first step towards a comeback.

Davies comeback sooner than expected?

The potentially decisive away game for coach Thomas Tuchel at VfL Bochum (February 18) will probably come too early for the Bayern star.

But he could play again in the home game against Leipzig if the healing process continues to go well.

It didn't look like that at first: the Canadian actually should have been back in the squad against Lazio.

However, at the press conference before the game against Lazio, Tuchel announced that Davies' return would be further delayed and spoke of "bad news".

After the winger had found himself in a slump in form, he was able to build on his old strength against Augsburg and Mönchengladbach.

Against Augsburg, Davies even scored the important goal to give them a 2-0 half-time lead.
