Biathlon star bombarded with hate comments

“We often found news that was really frightening and personally insulting.

The World Cup hasn't gone so well so far.

“I just need a hug and a few nice words right now and definitely no news that might push me even further down to earth,” said Voigt in the “ARD-Sportschau” podcast.

She can understand objective criticism very well, but “where people who are sitting on the couch in front of the TV and who have perhaps never been on skis themselves simply express their criticism, even though they personally only see me at the biathlon race and at all "I don't know how bad my setup is and what I do mentally is pretty weak," said the Thuringian angrily.

Voigt initially only managed 18th place in the World Championship sprint in Nove Mesto and 15th place in the pursuit - that is not the Thuringian's claim.

“Of course that’s not the performance you want to achieve.

This is very hard.

I really had to fight back tears because you work your ass off all year long - and then something like that comes to a climax," said Voigt in an ARD interview after the persecution.

Biathlon ace Voigt would like more objective criticism

“You don’t do it on purpose.

You don't run slowly on purpose.

You always do your best, regardless of whether the shooting result wasn't great today or whether the material wasn't great.

It's a starting line.

There is a finish line and between the two you try to give 100 percent,” Voigt told her critics in the “ARD-Sportschau” podcast.

The German was able to rehabilitate herself with fifth place in the individual.

At the World Cup in Östersund she came third twice and in Antholz she celebrated her first World Cup victory with Justus Strelow in the single mixed relay.

In Nove Mesto, Voigt still has several chances to fulfill her dream of acquiring precious metal.
