The logic was respected.
Liverpool FC easily won this Saturday afternoon on the pitch of Brentford FC (1-4) after an open, committed and pleasant match to watch.
The Reds, however, got off to a bad start in the match.
Certainly, they quickly got their foot on the ball, but without bringing danger into the opposing penalty area.
The Bees, very solid with a compact mid-low block, took advantage of the technical errors of Jürgen Klopp's players to quickly project themselves forward and prove dangerous, notably through Ivan Toney, very active but clumsy. (15th, 18th, 20th, 28th).
However, as the first act progressed, the Liverpool players took more and more control in the game. And quite logically, they opened the scoring.
Shortly after half an hour of play, after a (very) long clearance from Virgil Van Dijk, Diego Jota found, with a header, Darwin Nunez in depth.
The Uruguayan, completely alone, presented himself against Mark Flekken and deceived his vigilance with a sumptuous little ball poked with the right foot (34th).
The Reds thus returned to the locker room with a one-goal advantage but still with a bitter taste in their mouths due to injuries to Curtis Jones and Diego Jota.

After the break, Liverpool showed a lot of intensity...A strategy that paid off.
In the 54th minute, following a high recovery, Mohamed Salah perfectly found Alexis Mac Allister, launched into the penalty area.
The Argentinian performed a superb control-oriented-small-pointed sequence to shake the net and thus allow his team to make the break.
Mohamed Salah, who came on in the first half, then took care of worsening the score.
On a long ball and a deflection of the head of Cody Gakpo, the Egyptian, launched in depth, returned to his left foot before playing Nathan Collins and finding the small opposite net with a left-footed cross strike (68th).
We thought that Jürgen Klopp's men would quietly move towards a clear and flawless victory.
But that was without counting on the will of the Brentford players.
In the 75th minute of play, after a high recovery and a shot from Sergio Reguilon repelled by Caoimhín Kelleher, Ivan Toney reduced the score.
The end of the match looked a bit crazy.
However, the Bees made another defensive mistake.
And the Reds were quick to take advantage of it.
Following a (totally) missed clearance, Luis Diaz recovered the ball and threw Cody Gakpo.
The Dutchman controlled the ball at the entrance to the penalty area before adjusting Mark Flekken with his left foot.
A great success for Liverpool which consolidates its position as leader of the Premier League.
Brentford remains (provisionally?) 14th and misses an opportunity to get closer to the first part of the table.
