Ski jumping today in the live ticker: The preliminary report on jumping
Sometimes you just need a change of air to get yourself out of a crisis and everything runs smoothly again.
At least for
Philipp Raimund,
the long journey to the World Cup in
Lake Placid
definitely paid off.
Ski jumping in the live ticker today: Raimund in good shape - Fettner wins qualification
After consistently weak performances recently, the 23-year-old was able to build on his strong jumps at the beginning of the season in the US state of New York and took
second place
in the second individual competition , as well as in the super team competition alongside
Andreas
Wellinger Secure
second place
.
And things are going really well again for the Oberstdorfer in Sapporo, Japan.
In the qualification on Friday for the first individual competition on Saturday, Raimund was again the best German with
third place
behind the Austrian
Manuel Fettner
and the
Japanese Ren Nikaido
.
Ski jumping in the live ticker: Wellinger is weak - Kasai makes a comeback
However, the rest of the German team continues to appear weak and
Andreas Wellinger
also doesn't seem to like the change in atmosphere.
The DSV's previous guarantee of success only ended up in
13th place
.
He was followed by
Karl Geiger
(18th),
Stephan Leyhe
(20th),
Felix Hoffmann
(28th) and
Pius Paschke
(33rd).
But even the usual suspects when it comes to the favorites to win the day don't seem to have fully warmed up to the large hill in Sapporo yet.
Stefan Kraft
took tenth place,
Lovro Kos
came eighth.
Ryoyu Kobayashi
was the best among the top jumpers with fifth place.
But no matter how this jumping develops, the cameras in Sapporo will definitely be on one jumper.
Noriaki Kasai
is making his World Cup comeback in Sapporo at the age of 51.
In the qualification he came 45th, leaving jumpers like
Giovanni Bresadola
and
Remo Imhof
behind.
It will be exciting to see how the
1992 ski flying world champion
performs in the competition.
