New details are revealed about the situation of Dani Alves in prison.
The trial that is being conducted against the Barcelona footballer and the former Brazil national team on charges of rape is approaching the final stage, but Alves, who has been behind bars in Catalonia since he was arrested more than a year ago, is finding it difficult to cope with the situation.
A Brazilian journalist who claims to have spoken with Alves' partner in the holding cell, said that due to his poor mental state, the prison decided to put him in a "suicide procedure", which includes increased security around his cell for fear that he will harm himself.
Among other things, the guards were instructed to prevent him from walking freely in the prison yard.
Also, the mental aid system in the prison met with Alves more often.
According to the cellmate's testimony, Alves "is depressed and dejected, walks around the prison with his head down, and it seems that his condition is very difficult."
According to him, "There is a real fear that he will try to cut himself to do something crazy. From the day the trial ended (last week), he was pinned down by two more guards who follow him everywhere, all day."

The same partner confirmed the reports, which until today were just rumors, according to which Alves is not released to house arrest for fear that he will flee to Brazil.
"If they would have allowed him to get out of prison, he would have managed to defect to Brazil and stay there. In his situation, he doesn't care about being a fugitive criminal. He told me that himself," he said.
