A great sadness fell on Israeli football today (Sunday), when former coach Danny Golan passed away at the age of 64 after suffering a heart attack, leaving behind a shocked family.
Golan worked for many years as Nir Klinger's assistant.
In 2004/5 he started working as head coach at Maccabi Tzur Shalom and then moved to Maccabi Kiryat Ata, Hapoel Nazareth Illit, Hapoel Ashkelon, Hapoel Ramat Gan.
In 2015/16, he came to Maccabi Petah Tikva during the season and managed to keep it in the Premier League, despite its difficult situation.
After that he also coached Hapoel Haifa in the Premier League.
Later he once again guided Hapoel Ramat Gan, Hapoel Nof HaGilil and Hapoel Petah Tikva.
His son, Idan Golan, is currently playing for the Romanian Bojau.

The funeral of the former coach, a resident of Ramat Yishai, will be held tomorrow, after Idan Golan managed to find a flight from Romania and will arrive in time to pay his last respects to his father.
