Mark Zuckerberg is passionate about, and even a practitioner of, combat sports.

This Saturday evening, during UFC 298 in Anaheim, United States, the boss of Meta was able to get a little closer to his dream by accompanying the now ex-featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski.

The Australian, who lost by knockout in the second round against Ilia Topuria, giving up the belt he had held since December 2019, knows the American well, since they trained together.

Mark Zuckerberg is indeed a big fan of MMA.

In June 2023, a fight between the multi-billionaire and his counterpart at X (formerly Twitter), Elon Musk, had also been mentioned.

“I am ready to face him in a cage match,” the Tesla boss wrote on his social network.

A provocation to which Zuckerberg immediately responded: “Send me the address”.

Zuckerberg, jiu-jitsu specialist

To prepare for this fight, which ultimately never took place, the American decided to surround himself with the best.

And who other than Alexandre Volkanovski and Israel Adesanya, then both champions, in featherweight and middleweight respectively, to become a real fighter?

Having left for Australia, the billionaire shared several training sessions with the two UFC legends, testing his wrestling and striking.

And he surprised his two new partners with his skills in jiu-jitsu, he who regularly participates in competitions.

This Saturday evening, in Anaheim, Mark Zuckerberg decided to come and see the fights more closely.

Invited to the table of Dana White, the boss of the organization, the American first enjoyed himself by witnessing the victories of Merab Dvalishvili, Ian Garry and Robert Whittaker, before approaching a little closer of the spectacle for the main fight, that of Alexander Volkanosvki.

With the sweater bearing the image of the Australian on his back, Zuckerberg was present during the entry into the arena, and was part of the fighter's corner, with his coaches.

A presence which ultimately did not pay off, since “Volk” lost by knockout in the 2nd round.
