“I have a different status”: extended by PSG until 2027, Jade Le Guilly continues its growth

Highlights: Jade Le Guilly signs a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain until 2027. The 21-year-old defender spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad in Spain. “I feel good, because I have a different status,” says the French international. ‘It’s my small group of friends who allow me to relax and have a good time outside football,’ she adds. Le Guillie could soon join ‘the other circle’ of PSG players: Eden, 18, and Kenza Chapelle, 20.

A birth in Val-de-Marne, first steps in Val-d'Oise and already a decade at PSG: the right side is a pure product

She did not hesitate to criticize her teammates from last season.

After PSG's victory over Real Sociedad (2-0) in the round of 16 first leg of the men's Champions League, Jade Le Guilly, right side of the women's section, sent a short message in the WhatsApp group from the Basque club, where she was on loan last season: “Vamos PSG!

".

“I supported PSG, there was no doubt,” the 21-year-old told us.

The girls responded with slightly angry emojis (laughs).

A good-natured exchange which symbolizes the last months spent by the native of Nogent-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne).

The loan to Real Sociedad did him the greatest good, on a human level as well as on a football level, but his club always displays the initials PSG.

“I have experienced everything here,” recalls Jade Le Guilly.

At the amateur level, when you're younger, you even play against boys' teams in a friendly.

Then the U19s, when we reach the professional world and the dream grows.

We see the level rising little by little.

And, today, here she is in Jocelyn Prêcheur’s team.

Better, she signs a new contract for three more seasons, until June 2027. One of the first significant extensions of the season for Parisian management before the cases of Élisa de Almeida, Sandy Baltimore or Sakina Karchaoui.

For ten years, Jade Le Guilly has completed all the stages.

At the start of the season, back from loan, she even warded off competition from abroad with the arrivals of the Swiss Viola Calligaris and the Nigerian Nicole Payne, who had already left this winter.

“I came back more mature”

“When I came back from loan, I didn’t arrive as a starter,” she believes.

But there was a place to be taken.

I wanted to focus on myself first and not the performances of others.

I also extend because I feel good, because I have a different status.

The loan in Spain was a great experience.

I have very good memories like this goal against Barcelona in the league… We lost in the end but I was happy.

And then I discovered a new culture, new people.

I came back more mature.

I lived alone, I had to adapt.

More confident, Jade Le Guilly has also settled on this right side after several years of juggling between right and left in the youth teams, at PSG as well as in the French team.

Like the day of her debut, December 10, 2020, when she had to come on after 30 minutes during a Champions League match in Poland.

“I replace Perle Morroni on the left side,” she remembers.

I have gained a lot of experience since then.

Mental, tactical, technical…”

“I have trusted people around me”

Jade Le Guilly therefore continues her growth, always alongside close friends like Laurina Fazer, also in the professional team at PSG, or Kenza Chapelle (Strasbourg), Thelma Eninger (Reims), Hawa Sangaré (Bordeaux) or Alice Pinguet ( Dijon), with whom she shares her vacations.

“It’s my small group of friends who allow me to discuss anything and everything, whenever I need.

We relax, have a good time outside of football.

I have trusted people around me.

A circle that could even soon join “the other” Le Guilly of PSG: Eden, the 18-year-old little sister.

“She sometimes comes to train with the pros.

We have a somewhat similar profile to what the coaches say.

We know that one day, it would be great to be able to play together,” concludes the defender, who could soon knock on the door of the France A team, after a first stint in April 2023.
