The relationship between Kimmich and Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel is considered tense after the 50-year-old coach wanted to sign a strong defensive midfielder before the season on the grounds that the Munich team did not have a real six.
Tuchel, on the other hand, has to worry more than ever about his job on Säbener Straße.
The Bavarian Swabian has now lost eleven of his 44 competitive games with the German record champions.
There is a risk of the first titleless season since the 2011/12 season.
After the 0:3 in the Bundesliga top game at Bayer Leverkusen and the 0:1 in the Champions League during the week at Lazio Rome, the defeat at relegation candidate Bochum was the third defeat within eight days.
