All-Star 2024 held tonight (Sunday to Monday) in Indianapolis ended with a crushing victory for the Eastern Stars, who beat the Western Stars 186:211.
After several years in which the NBA switched to a different format in which the stars choose their five, the old and familiar format returned for the first time since 2017 and provided historical data, when the Eastern stars broke the all-time record for points for a team in the All-Star game and for the first time a team passed the 200-point mark in a game that the defenses in it were only in the form of a recommendation.
The fans who came to the hall in Indiana did not really see defenses nor a competitive game, when the stars of the game led from the first moment and did not fall short of the 50-point mark in any quarter.
Damian Lillard, who just yesterday won the three-pointer contest, won the MVP title and became the first to win both the three-pointer contest and the most outstanding title of the game itself, in which the Eastern Stars beat the West for the first time since 2014.

Lillard threw no less than 23 three-pointers and scored 11 of them.
He scored 39 points and added 6 assists.
But the crowd didn't really cheer for the Milwaukee star and booed him because the fans in Indiana wanted Tyrese Halliburton, the Pacers' local star, to win the title.
Halliburton provided 32 points and added 7 rebounds and 6 assists.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Lillard's friend for Milwaukee, scored 23, but the one who led was Jaylen Brown, who started this game from the bench, but in only 22 minutes scored 36 points and also added 8 rebounds.

On the other side, Minnesota star Karl-Anthony Towns scored 50 points in just 28 minutes off the bench with 23-of-35 from the field.
Shea Gilges Alexander made 7 three-pointers and contributed 31 points.
Nikola Jokic added 9 assists and 13 points.
LeBron James, record holder for All-Star appearances, played only 14 minutes and contributed 8.
