In an interview with BeIN Sport, Marco Simone, the former Italian striker of the capital club, was notably asked about PSG's chances of one day winning the Champions League for the first time in its history.
For him, the light is at the end of the tunnel like Manchester City who waited 15 years since the takeover of the English club by an investment fund from the United Arab Emirates to lift the cup with big ears.
“You see how long it took a club like Manchester City to win the Champions League.
Chelsea at the time too.
And Paris is a bit the same case,” he compares.
The best player of the French championship in 1998 is confident for PSG on the European scene.
“Paris has all the means to win the Champions League this season,” he hopes.
PSG will play their round of 16 second leg against Real Sociedad on Tuesday March 5.
After a first leg victory (2-0), the capital club is still in the running to do better than in 2020, finalist against Bayern Munich.

The last opportunity to win the competition with Killian Mbappé in its ranks, since the captain of the France team will leave the club, as announced by Le Parisien on February 3.
“It is not a failure that Paris does not win the Champions League because when you play against Madrid, against Manchester City or Bayern Munich, you can lose,” explains Marco Simone.
The eight clubs which arrive at the end have all the means to be European champions.
And Paris too.
So I think Paris can win as they can win next year because they will surely still have a big team.
