Ben Sharaf and Shawn Aviv finished this weekend at the "Basketball Without Borders" camp, which was held for the eighth time during the NBA All-Star Week in Indiana.

It was the first time that two players with Israeli citizenship received a summons to the camp, and while the rising talent of Kiryat Ata's city is considered by most to be the next thing in the industry, it was Aviv who stole the show.

Although Aviv was born in Israel, he plays in the United States, at Cavalry Christian Academy High School, while his brother Eli is currently playing for Nahariya.

The 18-year-old shooting guard, who stands 2.01 m tall, was selected for the tournament's outstanding list, and received warm words online thanks to his shooting abilities:

Aviv has already received scholarship offers from several colleges - the last one was Georgia Tech, but he was preceded by Arizona State, Tennessee, Kansas, USC, Florida and others.

In the United States it was estimated that Tennessee, Illinois and Oregon are the favorites in the race.

The Israeli-American is ranked 48th among all high school players in the 2025 class, according to the 247sports website, while the Rival website ranked him 60th.

Israel previously had two representatives at the camp - Omri Caspi, in one of the first camps that took place, as well as Dani Avdia, who was crowned as the outstanding player of the tournament in which he took part.

Among the notable names that have attended the camp in the past are Joel Embiid, Shay Gilges Alexander, DeAndre Ayton, RJ Barrett, Marc Gasol, Lauri Markkanen and Jamal Murray.

In total, 41 players who played in the camp in the past are currently on NBA rosters.
