Golden State is very far from championship contention this season, but even though the team is showing signs of the end of an era, it is not going to give up.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, one of the most reliable reporters in the business, the Warriors, who are determined to make the most of Steph Curry's peak years, intend to do everything to add another superstar to the team this summer.
The "dream scenario", according to Charania, is the addition of Giannis Antetokounmpo.
As you remember, the Warriors flirted with the Lakers on the last day of the trade deadline regarding the possibility of a deal that would bring LeBron James to San Francisco, but they responded in the negative.
Either way, most of the effort will now be directed at Giannis, whose unwavering commitment to Milwaukee has cracked a bit over the past year with statements that suggest dissatisfaction with the direction the franchise is headed.
Giannis only signed a huge new three-year contract in October 2023 for $186 million and his exit option will only be valid for the 2025/26 season, but the Warriors will try to make a move in the summer depending on the developments in Milwaukee.

Hypothetically, the combination between Kerry and Giannis should be lethal.
The Greek is known as someone who flourishes alongside big scorers who help the offense gain, and on the other hand, Kerry has probably never played with a player like Yanis who produces so much firepower in the paint, and is able to cover his shortcomings on the other side of the court as well, with great defense on the ring.
Of course, a trade that would land Antetokounmpo in Golden State would have to involve painful waivers of key players, possibly including Klay Thompson and/or Draymond Green, or perhaps this season's rising star Jonathan Cominga.
