Without Antoine Dupont, no future?
Deprived since the start of the Six Nations Tournament of its prodigy captain, who left to join the French 7s team for the Paris Olympics (July 26-August 11), the French XV seems stunned.
Haggard, without spring.
The happy ending at Murrayfield on February 10 blinded no one.
The Blues did not give up, of course, snatching a victory (16-20) in Scotland which spared them an open crisis after the inaugural debacle in Marseille against Ireland (17-38).
Their production, however, took them back years, when they played uncertain rugby, all slowness and clumsiness.
Struggling in this slump, Maxime Lucu, who went from being Antoine Dupont's understudy to the position responsible for managing the game, quite naturally became a target.
Will he risk his place for the third match against Italy, this Sunday (4 p.m.), in Villeneuve-d'Ascq (North)?
