Andreas Brehme is dead: Ex-professional soccer player was active in three countries
Brehme has had an eventful football career.
He was born on November 9, 1960 in Hamburg, played professionally for Saarbrücken, Kaiserslautern, FC Bayern, Inter Milan and Real Zaragoza.
He played 86 times for the German national team and scored eight goals.
His most important: the converted penalty in the 1990 World Cup final against Argentina.
Germany won 1-0 and became world champions for the third time.
Team boss at the time: Franz Beckenbauer.
The death of the emperor at the beginning of the year had deeply affected Brehme.
He leaves behind his partner Susanne Schaefer and two adult sons from his marriage to Pilar.
