Munich – Mathys Tel was something of a shooting star in the first few months of the current season.
The young Frenchman played his way into the hearts of FC Bayern fans with strong performances and really delivered with seven scorer points in his first ten games.

Tel is now relatively out of the Munich team; coach Thomas Tuchel relies more on other players on the offensive.
In the 2-3 defeat in Bochum, for example, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was preferred.

FC Bayern: Mathys Tel rejected a move in the winter
There had already been speculation in the winter transfer window that the offensive player could leave the club on loan.
But Tel wasn't interested in that; rather, he wanted to prove himself in Munich and get through it - even though he's currently not in the best position with Tuchel.
“He was an extremely important factor, but he has lost a bit of momentum and is no longer as aggressive in the box when he comes in.
He no longer has the absolute will and drive to score.
This probably also has to do with self-confidence.
“Perhaps he demands too much of himself,” said the coach at the press conference before the 1-0 defeat at Lazio, but he also added: “We won’t stop trusting him.”
