Complaints for sexual assault filed by supporters of Lens and Lille following security searches at the Le Havre stadium in the fall of 2023 were dismissed.
They were classified "for insufficiently characterized offenses", indicated Bruno Dieudonné, public prosecutor of Le Havre, confirming information from the newspaper L'Equipe.
The complainants had reported searches “felt as invasive, suggesting touching of the chest and genitals”.
At least five complaints targeted the same security guard, who explained that they had only applied instructions for particular vigilance towards women, who were likely to hide prohibited objects (particularly smoke bombs).
“The searches are getting more and more thorough, we know what they are looking for”
“The searches are becoming more and more thorough, we know what they are looking for, but there are limits to our privacy,” a Lille supporter told L’Equipe, who has not refrained from appealing.
In a press release released on Tuesday, RC Lens, which “maintains its support for its supporters”, specified that “twelve Sang et Or supporters” had filed a complaint.
A Brest supporter also said she wanted to take legal action.
