Is there now movement in the deadlocked leadership dispute at TSV 1860?

The Presidium has reacted to the statements of investor Hasan Ismaik.

Munich – Is there perhaps light at the end of the tunnel in the deadlocked dispute between the executive board of TSV 1860 Munich and investor Hasan Ismaik?

Robert Reisinger and Heinz Schmidt spoke out after the Jordanian's visit to Munich and included his statements in a press release on the TSV 1860 club website.

The presidium, which was reduced to two members after Hans Sitzberger's resignation, writes that they were asked a lot of questions.

“Hasan Ismaik made a quick visit to Munich without informing the executive committee.

While members and the media often ask the question “Why doesn’t the president speak to Hasan Ismaik?”, the fact is that the association has issued numerous invitations both in writing and verbally (through its representatives),” the duo justifies themselves and adds .

“The association was and is ready for dialogue.”

Reisinger and Schmidt sense a change in strategy from 1860 investor Hasan Ismaik

In addition, Reisinger and Schmidt sense “a change in strategy among our co-shareholders – also in their dealings with the parent club.”

According to their assessment, this would come about because Ismaik's complaint to the Federal Cartel Office threatens to fail and 50+1 will "in all probability remain part of the rules for professional football in Germany as a norm".

Since 2017, Ismaik has been noticed with a “deliberately brusque attitude towards the club representatives”: “The dealings with us were clearly strategically motivated and were intended to delegitimize the club and its elected representatives in public.”

Ismaik's offer to sell his shares again under certain conditions also goes unmentioned.

“This is the first time we’ve heard this in this form.

Our stance on this has always been clear: TSV Munich von 1860 GmbH & Co. KGaA needs more diversity among investors,” said Reisinger and Sitzberger.

“Then the unpleasant polarization between our sole co-shareholder and the club will also be resolved.

If there is now a willingness to do so, we expressly welcome this step.” (jb)
