FC Bayern is looking for a successor to Thomas Tuchel.

There are several candidates on the list.

We give an overview of the possible trainers.

1 / 9Xabi Alonso is considered the “absolute top candidate” to succeed Tuchel in the summer, according to Sky.

There is said to have already been contact.

The Leverkusen coach could challenge FC Bayern for the championship and then move to Munich, where the former midfielder ended his career in 2017 after three years in the FCB jersey.

2 / 9Jürgen Klopp will be without a club from summer onwards.

The long-time coach of Borussia Dortmund recently announced that he would be leaving Liverpool FC at the end of the season after almost nine years.

A lucky coincidence for FC Bayern?

Rather less.

Klopp has already made it clear that he would like to take a year off if he ever takes a new job.

3 / 9According to the Italian sports newspaper Corriere dello Sport, there is already contact between Zinédine Zidane and FC Bayern.

According to Sportbild, the three-time world footballer's involvement in Munich is out of the question because he wants to coach a club whose language he speaks.

For the Frenchman, who is considered the long-term successor to France's national coach Didier Deschamps, a stint in the Bavarian capital would be the first coaching position since he left Real Madrid in 2021. As coach of the "Royal", he won the Spanish title twice in two terms, including the Spanish Championship and the Champions League three times.

4 / 9Sebastian Hoeneß, the nephew of Bayern's powerful creator Uli Hoeneß, has already won the championship with FC Bayern.

However, with the small Bayern, i.e. the second team, in the 3rd league 2019/20.

The 41-year-old from Munich is currently causing a sensation in the Bundesliga with VfB Stuttgart.

As Bild reports, Hoeneß's nephew is a candidate for the coaching position at FC Bayern.

However, Hoeneß still lacks experience on the international stage.

5 / 9Hansi Flick was coach at FC Bayern from November 2019 to June 2021.

As Sport Bild reports, the Bayern bosses are looking into a possible return campaign for the ex-coach.

In the 2019/20 season, the Baden native won the Champions League, the championship and the DFB Cup as well as the national and international Supercup with the Munich team.

In September 2023, Flick was fired as national coach.

6 / 9According to Bild, Jose Mourinho is said to be interested in the coaching job at FC Bayern.

The Portuguese star coach is already learning German.

Mourinho won the Champions League with FC Porto (2004) and Inter Milan (2010).

He also won the UEFA Cup (2003) with Porto and the successor competition, the Europa League (2017), with Manchester United in 2017.

With Chelsea FC, Mourinho became English champion three times (2005, 2006, 2015), with Inter he won the Scudetto twice (2009, 2010) and with Real Madrid the Spanish championship in 2012. © Nicola Ianuale/Imago

7 / 9Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was discussed with Sky as a possible interim solution in the event of a quick separation from Tuchel.

However, after the decision to continue with Tuchel until the summer, a commitment seems doubtful.

Solskjaer, who last coached Manchester United from December 2018 to November 2021 and is currently without a club, is best remembered as a Bayern terror: In the 1999 Champions League final, he scored for Manchester United in the third minute of added time to make it 2-1 -winning goal against Munich, making the last-minute miracle of the “Red Devils” perfect.

8 / 9Joachim Löw has been without a job since summer 2021.

Although he has since been linked to several top clubs, the 64-year-old from Baden has not yet decided to get involved.

However, the long-time national coach (2006 to 2021) is spotted again and again in the Munich Allianz Arena.

An indication?

9 / 9 Antonio Conte has been without a job since his interlude at Tottenham (November 2021 to March 2023).

The southern Italian had previously coached Inter Milan, Chelsea FC and – quite successfully – Juventus Turin.

With “Juve” he won the Scudetto three times between 2012 and 2014, and Conte also became Italian champion with Internazionale (2021).
