A violent and bizarre incident took place this evening (Wednesday) at the end of the Limassol derby, in which Apollon defeated A. A. L. 1:3 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Cypriot Cup.
Eliel Peretz, Apollon's Israeli midfielder who came on as a substitute in the 77th minute, received an ugly punch from Louis de Lucas after the final whistle.
AAL's Dominican player was not satisfied with the hit and also added a kick in the burst and saw a red card, but in a completely strange way the Israeli was also sent off and will miss the quarter finals.
Peretz ran to the referee to try to understand why the red was drawn for him as well, but it didn't help.
Apart from him, Andreas Panayiotou was also injured and his face was bleeding.

The 27-year-old Peretz moved to Apollon last summer and managed to score three league goals in 23 games this season.
Before that he played for Hapoel Haifa, Austrian Wolfsberger, Hapoel Hadera, Bnei Yehuda and Maccabi Tel Aviv where he grew up.
