According to a media report, the Bayern stars lack hunger and self-confidence.
This also brings the outgoing coach Thomas Tuchel into focus.
Munich – FC Bayern's announcement on Wednesday morning (February 21st) didn't come as a complete surprise, but of course it still made waves.
Coach Thomas Tuchel will leave the German record champions at the end of the season, it is the result of “amicable discussions” with CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen.
FC Bayern: Allegedly allegations from the executive suite against Thomas Tuchel
Ultimately, there was probably no alternative to the decision; the performances in the past few weeks were too disappointing, reaching their negative climax on matchday 22 with the 2:3 in Bochum.
But looking for the responsibility solely on Tuchel would not do justice to the 50-year-old - especially since both the management and the coach himself have repeatedly held the players accountable in the recent past.

reports, there is said to be an internal opinion that there are too many highly paid but not hungry players in the FCB squad.
However, they have also lost form and self-confidence in the past few weeks.
“He undermined everyone,” a high-ranking member of the board is quoted as saying on the subject of Tuchel.

Bayern coach Tuchel and Joshua Kimmich probably have a strained relationship
It is fitting that Tuchel has recently repeatedly publicly criticized his stars.
“He was an extremely important factor, he lost his momentum.
He is no longer as aggressive in the box and no longer has the urge to score.
That's probably also related to self-confidence," said the coach at the press conference before the 0-1 loss at Lazio Rome, for example about youngster Mathys Tel.
The relationship with Joshua Kimmich is said to have been strained for a long time and has been considered shattered since the Leverkusen game.
Although the midfielder did everything he could to get fit in time for the summit, Tuchel relied on Aleksandar Pavlovic and Leon Goretzka in the center.
After his substitution in Bochum after 63 minutes, the DFB star looked very annoyed and was probably still arguing with Tuchel assistant Zsolt Löw.

Harry Kane takes a stand
Bayern bosses are drawing the first conclusion by separating from Tuchel: squad change in the summer?
Dayot Upamecano – who was sent off in two games in a row – wasn't exactly showered with praise either.
The fact that the central defender made several clumsinesses and thereby did his team a disservice is also true.
The standing of Thomas Müller, Leon Goretzka and Alphonso Davies is also said to have suffered.
Ultimately, the problems at FC Bayern appear complex to outsiders.
The blame for the current misery should lie neither with the coach nor with the team alone, but probably somewhere in between.
So far, this has only had consequences for Tuchel, although according to media reports, the squad will also be examined more closely in the summer.
