Munich - Over, over, that's it: Thomas Tuchel and FC Bayern Munich are going their separate ways, the record champions announced their separation at the end of the season on February 21st.
The coaching quake in the Bundesliga naturally caused a lot of reactions among experts and fans.
Record national player Lothar Matthäus also commented.
Thomas Tuchel and Lothar Matthäus: A complicated relationship
The relationship between the Sky expert and the current Bayern coach Tuchel is – to say the least – complicated.
In November 2023, after the 4-0 win in Dortmund, they clashed violently in a live interview in front of Sky cameras.
Matthäus now considers the separation in the summer to be logical.

Matthäus talks about Tuchel's exit and the dark Bayern scenario
Tuchel's contract was actually valid until June 30, 2025.
Now the decision has been made to terminate the contract a year in advance.
Matthäus, now 62 years old, said: “No one was happy anymore, so the separation at the end of the season is the right time.”
However, he added: "But if the next games are lost, I don't know whether he will see it through to the end." A dark Bayern scenario - because then you would suddenly be completely without a coach.
Actually, the aim of the separation in the summer is to gain time in order to find a suitable successor to Tuchel by then.
Xabi Alonso is currently said to be a hot candidate.
