Is the coach now on the brink?
Frankfurt – After Eintracht Frankfurt's embarrassing elimination in the playoff second leg of the Conference League against Royal Union Saint-Gilloise (1:2), the media and fan-internal discussion about coach Dino Toppmöller appears to be gaining momentum.
The fact is: The Eagle Bearers were unable to achieve their minimum goal of reaching the round of 16 on the European stage.

After Eintracht's exit from Europe: Krösche talks about Toppmöller's future
Eintracht sports director Markus Krösche, whose colors have been waiting for the next victory for five competitive games, spoke up in front of the RTL microphone immediately after the home defeat against Union and explained: “This is very bitter for us.
We didn’t put what we wanted on the pitch.”
When asked about Toppmöller's personality, the Frankfurt official in the next breath fully supported his head coach: "The coach is doing a good job with the team and is trying to develop them further," said Krösche, who stated despite the "backward step" he had suffered: " We have to see together that we put on a different performance.” When asked directly whether the club and Dino Toppmöller would continue to work together, the sports director replied unequivocally: “Of course.”

After the elimination at European level, some fans are asking themselves about a job guarantee for the head coach.

Toppmöller now has to find his way to Europe via the league
For Krösche, the focus was more on the performance of the Eintracht players after the bloodless performance against the Belgian championship contenders.
“We can’t play football like we did in the first half.
We have to be so self-critical with ourselves that it wasn't Eintracht Frankfurt international and not what we fundamentally imagine," warned the 43-year-old.
Accordingly, Markus Krösche called for a noticeable increase in performance for the coming games: “We have to show a different face and bring a lot more intensity to the pitch.” After all: Eintracht – who, as we know, have already been eliminated from the DFB Cup – have to change from now on only concentrate on one competition, the Bundesliga.
We now have to do everything we can to reach at least sixth place in the table in order to be able to compete in Europe again next year.
