Neymar's father told CNN that his son provided financial assistance to the former right-back during his trial.

While Dani Alves was found guilty and sentenced to 4 and a half years in prison for rape by the Spanish courts, Neymar's father told CNN that he

had

helped the latter financially.

In an interview which dates back to before the judgment was pronounced, Neymar da Silva Santos explained how his son had come to the aid of his friend during his trial.

Before the judgment finding Dani Alves guilty fell, Neymar JR's father declared that he had come to his aid because he preferred

"to believe in a friend rather than turn his back on someone"

.

In an interview with

CNN Brazil

, he returned to this financial aid

: “The family asked us for help.

Daniel had no money to defend himself and the deadline to pay the defense was running out.

Think about it, at no time could I refuse help to a friend who is trying to defend himself against an accusation”

he declared a few weeks ago.

The Brazilian would therefore have sent 150,000 euros to his compatriot in order to pay

“mitigation for repair of the damage caused”

.

Just after, Gustavo Xisto, the lawyer for the Neymar clan, was appointed to represent Dani Alves during his trial.
