In terms of titles, he is the most successful professional footballer in the world.
But off the pitch he made serious mistakes - now Dani Alves has been convicted.
Barcelona – During his active career, Dani Alves was one of the best full-backs in the world and, among other things, won numerous titles wearing the FC Barcelona jersey.
But there is hardly anything left of the world-class player's former glory, as the Brazilian was sentenced to four years and six months in prison for rape.

Dani Alves has long been the prototype of the attacking right-back in professional football.
In the FC Barcelona jersey he won every title there is to win at club level.
The 40-year-old was also successful at his other stations in Italy, France and Brazil.
Wearing the Brazilian Olympic team jersey, he won his 46th title at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, making him the most successful footballer in the world in terms of titles.
But the shine from his professional days has long since faded.
Alves has been behind bars since January 20, 2023.
He was accused of raping a woman in a Spanish nightclub.
The Catalan Supreme Court has now found the former Barca professional guilty and sentenced him to four years and six months in prison.
In addition, there is five years probation and a fine of 150,000 euros for the victim.

Dani Alves' story changes behind bars
The incident occurred in a Barcelona club on December 31, 2022.
According to the court, Alves took a stranger into the exclusive area of the club and then disappeared with her into the toilet, where the sexual abuse is said to have occurred.
Camera images and traces of semen served as evidence of the crime.
The woman, whose identity has been kept secret to this day, filed a complaint after an initial shock.
“The victim did not consent and there is evidence that goes beyond the complainant's statement and allows the rape to be considered proven,” said the Supreme Court of Catalonia in its ruling.
Alves, who has been behind bars for more than twelve months, kept changing his story.
First it was “I don’t know”, then it became “she wanted it too” to “I had been drinking and was out of my mind”.

Just one day after his arrest in January 2023, the Mexican club UNAM Pumas terminated the defender's contract, which meant the end of the career of the 126-time Brazil international.
As his lawyers announced, the 40-year-old will appeal the verdict.
In Spain it has been “Solo Si es Si” since May 2022 – only a yes is a yes.
The core principle of the new law means that only a clear yes from both sides will legalize sexual contact; anything else is rape.
An inglorious end to the career of the most successful footballer on the planet.
