The attraction Antoine Dupont scored his first try for the French sevens rugby team against Australia, during the last group match of the world circuit tournament in Vancouver (Canada) on Saturday.
A rugby union star who has set himself the goal of shining at the Paris Olympic Games (July 26 - August 11), Antoine Dupont (27) is playing his first tournament in Canada with the rugby sevens Blues.
After being a substitute during the first two matches on Friday, Dupont started against Australia, the last group match for the Blues, who were already assured of playing in the quarter-finals later on Saturday.
After a beautiful jump pass which led to the first try (6th), Dupont recovered the ball behind a scrum at 40 m in the middle, to follow up with a commotion and a feint and go to score his first try (8th).
The Blues, 7th team in the world circuit rankings, crushed Australia, N.3, 31 to 5, and reached the quarters undefeated.
The French also achieved a three out of three thanks to their success over Great Britain 31-10 on Friday morning and will play the quarterfinals later.
