At the first press conference after the announced separation, Thomas Tuchel faces the media.
In the end, a reporter's question infuriates him.
Munich - It was a special kind of press conference. After the showdown on the coaching question, the focus before the Bundesliga duel between FC Bayern and RB Leipzig was less on the preliminary discussion of the top game.
The reporters present took the opportunity to ask Thomas Tuchel about the impending separation.
After initially cool moderation, the trainer finally became upset when asked a question.
Thomas Tuchel on his relationship with the team: “characterized by respect”
Despite all the disappointment, Tuchel wanted to leave no doubt about bringing the season to a happy end.
“I will of course approach the job with the same energy as before,” assures Tuchel, “whether I understand the decision or not, whether I like it or not.”
This is how he formulates his claim as a trainer to always be focused on the matter, regardless of how long or short the employment relationship lasts.
He also didn't reveal his plans for the future.
Tuchel further reassured the listening fans when he noted that the team and those responsible “do not work at cross purposes.”
He points out that the decision about the separation was - apparently determined - set for the end of the season.
The relationship is also “characterized by respect,” said Tuchel.
The questions about the internal relationship were rounded off by Tuchel countering the accusation that he had not warmed up to FC Bayern.
“I don’t think you would find many voices in the club that would confirm that,” summed up the 50-year-old.

Tuchel on reporter demand: “a bit hypocritical”
However, the cool, objective analysis of the separation and the difficult course of the season did not stop there.
The coach responded to the last question from Sky reporter Torben Hoffmann.
It was about personnel decisions for the rest of the season.
Does Tuchel no longer have to take into account the sensitivities of the stars and their contract terms?
Especially since long-term consequences no longer affect him either.
An “accusation” that Tuchel does not want to accept.
What he does here is much more of a scolding against the reporting with regard to various personnel decisions.
Tuchel reacts irritably and counters the reporter with counter questions: “If Thomas Müller is on the bench, what are the questions?
What are they like when Rapha Guerreiro is on the bench?
Do you make a difference?” It was always the reporters who used every substitution and substitution in the last few weeks as an opportunity for interpretation, said Tuchel in a clearly annoyed tone.
For him it is even “a bit hypocritical” to question the objectivity of his decisions.

It is not the first time that Tuchel has asked a journalist to answer questions.

Depending on how the season progresses, there could be more episodes.
