Does Thomas Tuchel now only let his “favorites” have a go?
The ailing FC Bayern has RB Leipzig on its hands - an announcement from the coach is causing a stir.
Munich – The situation at FC Bayern is at least unusual, if not a little bizarre: Thomas Tuchel has to go, but he should still finish the season as successfully as possible.
Will the coach manage to unite the team behind him again and knock over the trestle?
The Bayern bosses actually no longer see Tuchel as the right coach, but he should sort it out somehow by the summer.
A strange starting point for everyone involved, who hopes that it will have a liberating effect.
But it has an advantage for Tuchel: he no longer has to take the sensitivities of the star players into account.

This could become apparent for the first time in the lineup against RB Leipzig (Saturday, 6:30 p.m., TV information can be found here).
“My decisions as a coach are now of course characterized by greater freedom,” Tuchel admitted frankly at the matchday press conference (read the full length here).
“You no longer need to weigh up the long-term impact of a decision,” said the Swabian and announced: “I can now be a little more ruthless.” A statement that some Bayern stars can easily take as a threat.
Because: Tuchel makes no secret of the fact that from now on he will only rely on “his” staff.

But who is “his” staff?
In the last few weeks, Joshua Kimmich, Matthijs de Ligt and Mathys Tel in particular have had a difficult time under Tuchel.
However, there will probably be no way around Kimmich in the starting line-up for the home game against Leipzig because Tuchel does not have a ready-to-play right-back available.
Only Konrad Laimer's return could still be an option.
It is still unclear whether the Austrian can return to the squad.
Kimmich will most likely have to play in the unpopular position in which Julian Nagelsmann will also use him at the European Championships.
The Munich team are missing from the Leipzig game: Dayot Upamecano (suspended), Alphonso Davies, Sacha Boey, Noussair Mazraoui, Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry (all injured).

De Ligt, often ignored by Tuchel, will fight with Eric Dier for a place in the first eleven.
Whether Mathys Tel will have a chance remains uncertain.
