The "Messi-mania" in the United States continues, for the second season in a row.
Leo Messi arrived tonight (Monday) in Los Angeles for the match against LA FC, and scored an equalizer in the 92nd minute after a brilliant combination play with Jordi Alba that gave his Inter Miami a point with a dramatic 1:1.
Even though it was an away game, Messi felt at home: the stadium in Los Angeles was filled to capacity with most of the stands filled with shirts and signs in his honor, and dozens of celebrities including Novak Djokovic come to watch the phenomenon up close.
For Messi, it was mostly a sort of reunion of former Barcelona players.
Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba started next to him in the lineup and on the other side came Ricky Puch, who also missed a penalty in the 13th minute.
Dian Jublich scored a goal for Los Angeles in the 75th minute, and Miami waited until extra time to equalize in style.
Messi started during and after a combination game with Jordi Alba, like in the good days in the Barça uniform, shelled for connections and established a point distribution.
