A tennis match can sometimes come down to a few details.
This Tuesday, it was… eggs that stopped the Gaël Monfils machine, who faced his compatriot Ugo Humbert for the second time in five days.
Winner last week in Doha, “La Monf” was this time disrupted by stomach aches.
After winning the first round, the 37-year-old complained to his clan, regretting his last meal.
“I think the eggs ruined my stomach,” explains Gaël Monfils with a smile.
I don’t know, I don’t feel very well.”
To which his coach replies: “you should have had a pepperoni pizza”.
“I should have, yes,” laughs the Frenchman.
I can't think of food there.
» A very funny sequence, captured by the camera of the Dubai tournament, where the two Tricolores face each other in the first round.

These stomach aches actually seem to have disturbed Gaël Monfils, who let the second set slip away before losing in three sets (4-6, 6-3, 6-3).
He therefore did not offer himself a second round against another veteran of the circuit, the Briton Andy Murray.
Before his stomach aches, the former 6th in the world had been in good shape for a few weeks.
After beating Denis Shapovalov in Rotterdam, he reached the semi-finals of the Doha tournament, ultimately losing to young Czech Jakub Mensik.
