Last Thursday, the Spanish prosecutor's office delivered its verdict, two weeks after the end of Dani Alves' trial.

The former Brazil international, 40, was found guilty of rape and received a prison sentence of four years and six months.

One of his former clubs, FC Barcelona (2008-2016 then 2021-2022), removed his name from its website, where he appeared in the list of club legends.

According to the Spanish daily Sport, “Barça made this symbolic act effective once the conviction for sexual assault was handed down.

Still at the club museum

If the Brazilian is no longer mentioned on the Barça website, his image still appears in the club museum.

“He will always appear in the photos of the victorious Champions League team in Berlin (2015), for example,” explains the daily La Razón, whose editorial line is considered nationalist.

Because he was part of the team and it doesn't make sense, nor is it possible, to remove him from the picture.
