An illness that kept him away from the field for several months.
The 28-year-old midfielder saw his condition deteriorate on Tuesday February 20.
“The Swedish national team player lost consciousness at his home on Tuesday February 20 and was transferred to Aarhus University Hospital, where he is hospitalized and placed on a ventilator,” adds Midtjylland.
Olsson, whose exact diagnosis has not yet been communicated, remains unconscious.
The Swedish Football Federation wanted to support the man who wore the national jersey 47 times: “The whole Swedish football family is thinking of you and hopes that you will recover soon.”
“Get well soon, Kristoffer.
We wish you a speedy recovery,” writes his former team Arsenal in a tweet on X.
