Things have escalated in Norway's ski jumping camp.
The athletes confirm that they criticized their coach Alexander Stöckl in a letter.
Oslo - The Norwegian Ski Association has been hit by a severe earthquake in the ski jumping department.
Despite his recent successes, Alexander Stöckl may be on the verge of retirement.

“This is not about results.
The point is that we believe that this cannot wait until spring as we want to put together a new team for the season,” explains athlete spokesman Johann Andre Forfang to the Norwegian newspaper

The document drawn up by the athletes is said to have primarily criticized Stöckl's human leadership.
Both jumpers from the A and B teams took part in writing the critical lines.
According to information from the Norwegian public broadcaster

the association has already asked Stöckl to resign.

Alexander Stöckl withdrew from the last three World Cups
Stöckl responded to the criticism that he had dealt with the situation in the last few weeks and had the opportunity to speak to the athletes.
“It was an intensive and fruitful session, but we cannot draw any conclusions at this point about the further course of the season.”
The current situation is apparently not leaving him unscathed.
At the last three World Cups in Willingen, Lake Placid and Sapporo, Stöckl was not seen in the coaching stand - assistant coach Magnus Brevig took over his duties during this period.
The last two weeks have been very stressful for him, said Stöckl. "On the one hand, I have to take care of myself and my family and also talk to all my colleagues about how we are dealing with this situation." There is a TV overview, he plans to stand on the coaching tower again.

Stöckl has long been an institution among Norwegian ski jumpers.
The Austrian has held the position of head coach since 2011. Halvor Egner Granerud most recently won the 2022/23 Four Hills Tournament and previously the overall World Cup.
Although there has recently been a clear upward trend in results, constant unrest dominates the situation.
The difficult financing and a power struggle within the association repeatedly made new headlines.
In mid-January, the surprising resignation of sports director Clas Brede Brathen after more than 20 years in office caused a stir.
