WWE star Virgil, best remembered by wrestling fans from the 1990s as the tool bearer of Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, has passed away at the age of 61.
His Instagram account reads: "We confirm the sad news of the death of wrestling star Virgil /Michael Jones. There's so much to say here and we'd love to share stories, but right now it's a hard day because our friend is no more. We'll ask at this point to remember him as the person he was and wish him unlimited pasta in heaven. We love you Mike."
Virgil began his career in Memphis in 1985 under the name "Soul Train Jones" in the CWA and later became the AWA Champion and also a tag team champion in that association with Rocky Johnson, the father of "The Rock".
He gained national recognition when he moved up to WWE (then still WWF) a year later and for years carried DiBiase's briefcase, accompanying him to the ring and occasionally interfering in matches.

In 1991, Virgil "cheated" on DiBiase at the Royal Rumble, became a crowd favorite and defeated the former boss at WrestleMania, when later that year he also beat him at SummerSlam for the "Million Dollar Championship".
After a few years of shuffling, he left the big organization and in 1996 he appeared again on the screens with the name "Vincent" in WCW, Ted Turner's rival league, and there he also accompanied DiBiase and Hulk Hogan.
In the revolution of Hogan and the NWO, Vincent joined and was part of the cabal that changed the organization.
In 2000 he retired, appeared occasionally on tours in Asia and returned to WWE in 2010 with Ted DiBiase Jr.
In April 2022 he discovered that he had suffered two strokes in the past and was diagnosed with dementia.
A month later, Gee said he was diagnosed with colon cancer.
About a year and a half ago, Virgil was a guest on the Breadstick Diaries podcast and was asked how many women he slept with over the years.
"I don't know," he replied, "maybe... all over the world? Probably a million."
