Eintracht Frankfurt's form is currently not right.
That also rubbed off on goalkeeper Kevin Trapp.
The criticism is becoming clearer.
Frankfurt – Few active players are as highly regarded at Eintracht Frankfurt as Kevin Trapp.
The 33-year-old is the undisputed starting goalkeeper for Hesse.
Nevertheless, criticism of the keeper's performance is becoming increasingly louder due to Trapp's continued lack of form.
On the sidelines of the game against Wolfsburg there were renewed expressions of displeasure against the goalkeeper - both from fans and experts.
Trapp blameless when Eintracht conceded goals
In the game against Wolfsburg, there were initially whistles from the opposing stands against Trapp, who, in the fans' opinion, was apparently too hesitant and slow in building up the game.
The goalkeeper was clearly annoyed after this scene.
Later there were whistles again, but this time not against Trapp.
His teammates slowed down on a counterattack, to which the SGE supporters reacted audibly.
Regarding the second scene, Trapp said after the encounter on DAZN: “I don’t understand that.”
However, Trapp was not at fault for the two goals conceded by Eintracht, as coach Toppmöller said: “I think it would be outrageous to talk about goalkeeping errors here.” Former Eintracht goalkeeper Uli Stein also absolved the national goalkeeper of complicity in the goals conceded , but noticed
a clear insecurity
in
Bild : “He was outstanding for a year and a half, but at the moment he is weakening a bit.
But that’s normal, because the insecurity in the team is contagious.”

Despite the contract until 2026: Eintracht is keeping an eye on Trapp's successor
This includes Eintracht keeper Trapp for the 512-time Bundesliga player Stein in one-on-one situations and on the line “among the top goalkeepers.” The 69-year-old, however, sees Trapp’s weaknesses in crosses and in controlling the penalty area: “There “He was never as outstanding as he was with other things.” But no one is talking about a changing of the guard in the Hessian team.
Trapp only extended his contract until 2026 last year. The contract also includes the option for an extension for another year.
In addition, the 33-year-old should stay with the club even after his career ends, like Eintracht legend Alex Meier, who coaches the U16.
While substitute goalkeeper Jens Grahl, who is two years older, is not a suitable man to succeed Trapp, the SGE U21 in the Regionalliga Südwest is slowly building up two promising talents with Kãua Santos (20) and Simon Simoni (19).
As long as Trapp stays fit, their time has not yet come - despite the Eintracht hero's lack of form.
