The decision of the Ethics Committee in the Saudi Federation is expected to be published today (Wednesday) regarding the obscene gesture made by Cristiano Ronaldo last Sunday.
In the Gulf state, it is claimed that after the local football association opened an investigation into the incident, in which the Portuguese responded to chants of "Messi, Messi" from the fans of Shabab Al Ahly, Ronaldo is in danger of being suspended for two games and receiving a financial fine in addition.
According to the media in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo explained to the disciplinary committee: "I respect all the clubs. The movement I made expresses power and victory, it is not immoral. In Europe we are used to it."
This is the second time that Ronaldo has made a move that is seen as "immoral" since he signed for Al Nasser, but as you can recall, he had similar reactions earlier in his career when fans of opposing teams called out the name of CR7's great rival, Leo Messi, in order to provoke in portuguese.
Removed from two games?
Ronaldo's obscene movement
The writer and TV presenter Walid Al Faraj, one of the most famous in his field in Saudi Arabia, said about the case at the beginning of the week: "The disciplinary committee is facing its biggest test. We'll wait and see. There is a limit to everything, no matter how famous you are. This is how the big leagues operate."
