Ramat Gan Stadium lit up Maccabi Tel Aviv in its best season in the first decade of the millennium.

The cinderella Hapoel Ramat Gan managed to knock out Maccabi Petah Tikva from the Premier League and Bnei Sakhnin, which was promoted at the end of the season from the National League, at home, but to stun the cup holder and champion on the way, and on a neutral court?

Nir Haddad gave the team from the middle of the national table the advantage in the 26th minute, Nir Klinger took Avi Nemani out of the freeze and returned with an equalizing penalty, but in the 90th minute Sharon Avitan shot in and established an amazing victory.
Two weeks later, Hapoel Ramat Gan also beat Hapoel Be'er Sheva on penalties and became the first cup holder ever produced by the Mishna league.

After the suicide of Robbie Shapira, the relegation of the league and a prolonged conduct under sanctions, Hapoel Haifa managed to recover in 2003/04.
