“I'm sad, shocked, I'm heartbroken”: Paul Pogba reacts to his heavy sanction for doping

The French international received confirmation this morning of his 4-year suspension following a positive test for testosterone.

This Thursday, the French international (91 caps) was suspended for 4 years following a positive test for testosterone, which he carried out last August on the sidelines of a Serie A match between Juventus and Udinese, in which he did not participate.

“I was informed today of the decision of the National Anti-Doping Tribunal and I believe that the verdict is incorrect,” Pogba communicated on his Instagram account.

I am sad, shocked and heartbroken because everything I have built in my professional gaming career has been taken away from me.

“When I am free from legal restrictions, the full story will be revealed, but I have never knowingly or deliberately taken any supplements that violate anti-doping regulations,” he continued, in line with his defense of involuntary intake of this substance.

“As a professional athlete, I would never do anything to enhance my performance by using banned substances and I have never disrespected or cheated my fellow athletes and the fans of the teams I played for, or against whom I played.

“As a result of the decision announced today, I will appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport,” confirmed Pogba, in accordance with information that had been communicated in the morning by his entourage.
