The district upper league derby between Penzberg and Seeshaupt/Weilheim took place at a good level.
At the beginning it looked like a big surprise.

- There was something going on in Penzberg: On the newly designed and ultra-modern lanes in the Josef Boos Hall, the bowlers from SKC Fortuna Penzberg and the Seeshaupt/Weilheim syndicate fought an interesting district league duel - with a lot of excitement and high results.

A special scene:
While the players in the middle pairings were doing their test throws, Thomas Huppenberger saw the time had come to provide a little more momentum.
The Penzberg sports manager set the bowling hall's ventilation to level two, i.e. "increased operation".
Everyone could use some fresh air - the athletes and also the numerous fans who populated the spectator area in the bowling alley in the basement of the Josef Boos Hall.
The first part of the derby in the district league between SKC Fortuna Penzberg and SG Seeshaupt/Weilheim had significantly increased the climate values in the area.
SG Seeshaupt/Weilheim wins 6:2 in Penzberg
The result:
The weakened Penzbergers took both team points from their favored opponents with a fine game at the beginning.
On top of that, the hosts were ahead with 56 wood after two of six duels.
SG team leader Florian Königbaur thought it was “a bit much that we have to catch up on now”.
The second place in the table ultimately managed to do that.

The SG initiated the turnaround in the fourth set of the middle pairings.
In the end, Seeshaupt/Weilheim won with 6:2 points (3317:3229 wood).
The guests narrowly missed the league's season-best away result.
By the way, Penzberg holds this – with 3330 wood (played in Eberfing).
In the first leg, the Penzbergers had triumphed 5:3, not least because Michael Heinfling junior played brilliantly with 605 wood.
This time, however, he was missing from the Fortunes.
SG second in the table, Penzberg fourth in the table
The table situation:
Despite the important away win, “promotion is slowly becoming very unrealistic,” says SG player Königbaur.
Opponent Eberfing continues to show no weakness.
Since the leader (13 games/13 wins) is clearly ahead of the SG in terms of team points (comparable to the goal difference), the SG (13 games/eleven wins/two defeats) has to hope for three Eberfinger defeats in the remaining five games.
And the SG itself would have to win everything.
A very theoretical construct.
Nevertheless, Königbaur says: “As long as it is mathematically possible, we will try not to let up.”

The Penzbergers (16:10 points) are in a good position as fourth in the table.
According to sports director Huppenberger, the team is satisfied;
The team had nothing to do with relegation throughout the season, and on top of that there were some notable performances and victories.
And the Fortunes had no ambitions of promotion to the regional league either, as the standard there was so high compared to the regional league that with the current squad they “only get a beating,” as Huppenberger puts it.

The course of the game:
At the beginning, the Penzbergers clearly set the tone, scored both team points and achieved an increase of 56 wood.
“Honestly,” said Königbaur, “that was a surprise to me.” He emphasized that both SKC players “deserved” to get the points because of their performance.

(566) took place at a high level.
Schouten won the first set (143:122), but then Brück hit back powerfully (158:134).
On the third hole, Schouten secured the set point with an eight on the 30th throw (147:144).
Both players went into the fourth set with 424 wood each.
Brück excelled there.
After 102 wood in the full, he cleared seven times within 15 throws;
This resulted in a massive 165 pieces of wood.
Schouten could no longer keep up with 141 wood.
Both had played 205 wood in the clearance;
that is remarkable.

In the other match, Aydin Coban (564) secured the team point against Thomas Lackinger (531) after just three rounds.
The SKC veteran was used in the first set for the fourth time this season (twice as a substitute) and set a season record.
Markus Großkopf achieves the best performance of the day
In the middle pairings, the Penzbergers initially continued to offer resistance, but the guests were already getting closer.
And at the end of the third set the momentum finally tipped over to the SG's side.
The decisive factor for this was the performance of Markus Großkopf, who shone with 596 wood (210 in clearing).
In all four sets (157/140/141/158) he had the upper hand over Zivko Labor (537), although the Penzberger,
reigning German runner-up in the senior C category
(age 70 and over), played really well.
What he likes about Großkopf is “how he can play up his mentality,” said Königbaur.
This is “not always technically perfect”, but the attitude is “a ten out of ten”.
In the other duel, SG player Daniel Hey (535/3:1) prevailed against Markus Jung (486).
With the score at 2:2 on points, the SG was now ahead with 52 wood.

In the final pairings, the guests secured victory.
According to Florian Königbaur,
the results on both sides were
“somewhat below value” because the bowling no longer went as well towards the end as it did at the beginning.
The SG captain played consistently, with 563 wood (201 in clearing) and four set points, he won against
Thomas Huppenberger
(511), who was well below his usual home average that day.
Dominik Schütz (526) took the team point, even though Penzberg's
Julian Kral
(542) hit the majority of the pins.
In the third set, Schütz got a draw with some good moves, which in retrospect was crucial.
Kral scored significantly better (183:156), but ultimately the set points count.
And Schütz was ahead with 2.5:1.5.
