FC Bayern Munich will not be allowed to bring fans to the next away game in the Champions League, UEFA has decided.
Munich – In the first leg of the round of 16 in the Champions League, FC Bayern Munich had an evening to forget.
The game at Lazio Rome was lost 0-1, Dayot Upamecano was sent off and the fans went crazy in the stands.
The supporters' behavior now has consequences, as UEFA punished the club harshly.

UEFA announced that the German record champions will not be allowed to hand out tickets to their supporters for the next away game in Europe's premier football league.
The continental association also imposed a fine of 50,750 euros on FC Bayern.

The UEFA disciplinary committee now enforced a penalty that had been suspended after the group stage.

If FC Bayern turns the result around in the second leg and advances to a round, no fans will be allowed to travel to the away game in the quarter-finals of the premier class.
In the event that Munich is eliminated against Lazio Rome, the penalty would apply in the first Champions League away game of the 2024/25 season.

“I hope she meets us.
Because overall we have to move forward first,” said head coach Thomas Tuchel when asked how much such a fan exclusion would affect FC Bayern Munich.

The suspended Upamecano will not be there in the second leg against Lazio Rome.
UEFA announced that the Frenchman will miss one game.
He would be eligible to play again in a possible quarter-final.
The 25-year-old was shown red for a foul in Rome in the 67th minute.
Former Dortmund player Ciro Immobile converted the penalty into the winning goal for Lazio.
