Max Eberl was introduced to FC Bayern on Tuesday.
Thomas Tuchel doesn't seem to be particularly enthusiastic about the timing - not for the first time.
Munich – Max Eberl starts at FC Bayern.
The new sports director started work on Säbener Straße one day before the official start of the contract.
One of his first details was to introduce himself to the team, as Thomas Tuchel said at the press conference before the Freiburg game.
FC Bayern is rewriting the organizational chart for the third time in ten months
However, the Bayern coach didn't seem particularly euphoric about Eberl's arrival.
The reason: Tuchel fears a certain distraction from the game on Friday - and not for the first time.
“It is the third time in ten months that we have rewritten the organizational chart.
And for the third time immediately before a Bundesliga game.
“It’s not without its consequences,” said the 50-year-old.
As a reminder: CEO Oliver Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidžić had to pack their bags at the end of last season.
According to Tuchel's statements, the team knew about the decision before the decisive game on the last matchday in Cologne.

Tuchel does not expect Eberl to have much influence on his work
Change number two took place on September 1, 2023, when Christoph Freund was introduced as the new sports director.
And now Eberl.
“We will try to keep the focus on the game,” explained Tuchel.
The Bayern coach doesn't expect the new sports director to have much influence on his work anyway.
“I think I remain responsible for the lineup.
Nobody here has ever talked me into it.
“As I know Max, that won’t change,” said Tuchel.

Incidentally, the 50-year-old did not follow the introduction of his new temporary superior.
“I didn't see or read his performance because there was training.
I know Max from before and from our current conversation.
We will see what effect it will have,” explained Tuchel.
The sports director will watch his first game as Bayern boss from the stands - and not sit on the bench like his predecessor Salihamidžić.
