FC Bayern meets SC Freiburg on Friday.
Which line-up will coach Thomas Tuchel choose?
Leroy Sané will be missed by Munich.
Update from March 1, 2024, 11:30 a.m.:
There was still speculation on Thursday (February 29) as to whether Leroy Sané would be fit in time for the away game at SC Freiburg, but it is now clear: the national player will not play the game in Breisgau due to knee problems sure to miss.
There are many indications that Mathys Tel will take Sané's place in the offensive left wing position.
Another option would be new signing Bryan Zaragoza.
A starting eleven duel that is certainly explosive for Tuchel: Max Eberl recently let it be known that Mathys Tel should be a central building block of the future Bayern team.
When asked about this, Tuchel replied: “Nobody has ever talked me into the line-up.
I assume that it will stay that way.” If the coach lets Tel languish on the bench again, the discussions are likely to go into the next round.

Bayern win their first game after Tuchel was officially announced
First report:
Munich – Was the win against Leipzig on the last matchday the turnaround for Thomas Tuchel and FC Bayern?
After three defeats in a row, the coach and the German record champions agreed to an early separation next summer.
They promptly scored a 2-1 win in the first game after Tuchel was officially announced.
The game in Freiburg serves as a dress rehearsal for the second leg against Lazio
In the away game in Freiburg on Friday (8.30 p.m., TV information can be found here), Bayern need another three if they want to retain the small remaining chance of challenging Leverkusen for the championship.
With the FCB still eight points behind the Werkself, they can't afford to lose any more points.

There is also the second leg in the Champions League against Lazio Rome next week (March 5th, 9 p.m.).
After the dismal performance in the first leg in Rome, Munich have to make up for a 0-1 deficit.
The game against Freiburg should therefore also serve as a dress rehearsal for next Tuesday in terms of personnel selection.
Will Davies make a comeback against Freiburg?
At the matchday press conference (read the full length here), Tuchel announced that Kimmich would again be used in the right-back position against Freiburg.
The 50-year-old also made no secret about central defense: Minjae Kim will play alongside Eric Dier.
“That makes more sense since Upa is suspended against Rome,” explains Tuchel.
Dayot Upamecano should therefore only see minutes in the event of an injury, even though he is fit.
Alphonso Davies, who is said to be one of Real Madrid's big transfer targets, is back in the Bayern squad after recovering from a strained medial ligament in his left knee.
Tuchel did not want to answer whether he would start against Freiburg.
Raphaël Guerreiro is available as an alternative.
Will ailing Sané get a break before the knockout game against Lazio?
Leon Goretzka and Aleksandar Pavlovic will probably play in the center of midfield again.
Except for the left offensive position, the Bayern team is currently positioning itself.
The question here is whether the ailing Leroy Sané will get a break and perhaps Mathys Tel will be put into the starting line-up.
“Leroy always wants to play.
He is someone who can tolerate pain incredibly well.
He has felt something in the last few weeks.
Maybe he bit his teeth a little too much,” said Tuchel on the PK.
“I feel that he is not completely free.
He has a lot of aches and pains and is paying a bit of tribute for the overload.
It’s important to find the best solution for tomorrow.”
Eberl would like more playing time for Tel
When asked about Tel's playing times and new sports director Max Eberl's wish to let the Frenchman play more in the future, Tuchel became a bit thin-skinned on the PK.
“I am, was and remain responsible for the lineup.
Nobody told me otherwise.
I assume that it will stay that way.”
